45th President Trump is reportedly set to meet with a potential primary challenger to rival Liz Cheney. Trump is meeting with Harriet Hageman, who previously ran for the Wyoming GOP gubernatorial nomination in 2018, in Bedminster, New Jersey. However, what makes Trump’s meeting with Hageman interesting is the fact she is a previous friend and supporter of the pro-impeachment Republican.
Newsmax reports:
On Election Day 2018, Hageman wrote that she was “fortunate to be able to spend some time with Congresswoman Liz Cheney this morning, learning more about the challenges we face, as well as the positive steps that have been taken in the last two years to fix Washington D.C.”
As of Thursday morning, Hageman’s law firm website included two photos of her standing alongside Liz Cheney, including one in which they were joined by the congresswoman’s father, former Vice President Dick Cheney. There also was a photo of Hageman standing between a photo of Trump and the American flag.
Trump advisors told Politico they hoped a Trump endorsement will limit the numbers of challengers so that Cheney could not win renomination with only a plurality.
Republican Party officials in two rural Wyoming counties announced last weekend they no longer will recognize Liz Cheney as a party member because of her vote to impeach Trump.
Trump has vowed to support a primary challenger to unseat Liz Cheney after she voted to impeach him.

Trump is a dangerous radical who seeks to subvert the American electoral system and replace the considered verdict of experience professionals – both Republic and Democrat – that he lost the 2020 Presidential election – with mob rule. If Liz Cheney – and Mitch McConnell, who pretty much echoed her comments, although not her courage – are Republicans In Name Only, then the Republican Party is no longer worthy of that name. Given that the people who formerly were known as Republicans now calls for the replacement – or even hanging – of people whose only crime is to do their duty and refuse to lie or disobey the Constitution just to please the Leader, the most appropriate name for them is Bolsheviks.

I would not trust any friend of Liz Cheney’s to run against her. I’m sure he’s in the process of interviewing several potential candidates and then selects the best one to get his endorsement.

If Wyoming has any self-respect, Liz Cheney will lose her seat in Congress. She has betrayed her Party and her espoused conservative views. She may hate Trump personally, but that is not reason enough to betray her constituents and advance the Democrat agenda.

It appears to me that more and more people are jumping in the race attempting to unseat Traitor Lizzie. I am a Wyoming voter who didn’t trust her the first time she ran but we ended up stuck with her or a Democrat. We don’t need a huge divided field running against her; we need one good person. Some of these politicians need to humble themselves and support good people already in the race.

Showing how Cheney has failed America and her Wyoming constituents will bring a decisive win for a primary challenger on the Republican side. Liz Cheney has been arrogant and condescending in her leadership role in Congress—everything her father wasn’t when he served as Chief of Staff to Gerald Ford, Congressman, Defense Secretary and Vice President. Maybe civilian life can restore her humility, which she once had when serving as Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. I hope she does, but Wyoming needs a new Congressperson since it only has one and she has not served them well. However, it is her sister who is a lesbian, not Liz. But your characterization of Cheney’s sister, Mary, is unkind and unfit for civil discourse imho.

You are 100% right – both are swamp scum. But if Hageman wins due to a Trump endorsement it is a personal way for Trump to slap Cheney in the face. This move is more symbolic than anything else. Since she is well known in Wyoming it would not cost much money to help her beat Cheney.
