In a Hollywood minute, Amanda discusses PBS and their funding. Oklahoma’s governor Kevin Stitt vetoed a bill last week that would have renewed funding for the state’s local station PBS, OETA. This bill would have renewed the funding for the channel through 2026. Stitt said in an interview after vetoing the bill that funding PBS was an outdated system allowing the state’s tax dollars to go towards a news outlet to outcompete private news networks while showing indoctrination material to the state’s children. Unless the state’s legislature can override the veto, which they probably won’t as they are heavily Republican, this is where it will stand. This is how we win!
