White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki Attempted to blame members of the media for being a ‘huge driver’ behind the need to say there is currently a ‘border crisis.’
Psaki made the claim during an appearance on the podcast of former Obama Advisor David Axelrod.
As Fox News reports:
Psaki made the comment on “The Axe Files with David Axelrod” podcast on Thursday, arguing that the migrant surge “wasn’t really a crisis,” but rather “a huge challenge.”…
Axelrod added that “this is the sort of game that drives you nuts in Washington. It’s like, ‘I’m going to make you call it a crisis and then we will write a story saying you called it a crisis.’”
“White House in crisis,” Psaki responded, pointing out what she believes could be considered a hot headline.
“That’s a big driver of it.”
Psaki went on to claim that Border crises are ‘cyclical,’ in spite of the fact that there were no border crises of similar magnitude on the southern border during the Trump Administration. Something which doesn’t fit well into Psaki’s theory that the crisis at the border is merely a creation of the media.
