Ocasio-Cortez Mistaken for Intern… Complains on Twitter

Congresswoman-elect Alecandria Ocasio-Cortez is already trying to make waves in Washington. From challenging Nancy Pelosi on climate change, to pushing for Trillions in additional government handouts, the Democratic Socialist from New York wants to radically change this country. 

But she’s already facing an unexpected setback–people keep mistaking her for a Capitol Hill intern. 

People keep giving me directions to the spouse and intern events instead of the ones for members of Congress 🤦🏽‍♀️

And that doesn’t sit too well with the young politician.

Ocasio-Cortez blasted critics on twitter for not “believing women.”

– Dem Spouse + Member luncheon were at the same time today. I was sent to spouse event.

– Last night I was stopped bc it was assumed I was an intern/staffer

– Next time try believing women + people of color when they talk about their experiences being a woman or person of color https://t.co/xXwAUegQNI
