Edit of Kevin McCarthy. The speaker of the house who went through fifteen votes in order to advance as speaker. Photo edit/ Alexander J. Williams III/ Pop Acta

Today on your Hollywood minute Amanda discusses the House speaker vote, Kevin McCarthy, and her feelings on the matter. First, we are in deep – mostly likely past the twelfth vote at this point – and the Representatives holding out do not own anyone, except their voters, anything. The comments they are receiving are probably similar to those that surfaced 200 some years ago about Thomas, George, Sam, John, and the Sons of Liberty. So if more days pass, and Congress isn’t spending any money, passing crazy laws, or expanding the government, I think we will be alright. And if McCarthy does become Speaker he will probably be walking around Congress with a cone over his head.

It is just so odd that everyone in politics does nothing but spends a lot of our time and money doing for themselves while knocking others down. It must be on the resume that this is how you get nothing done. No one can take credit for not getting anything done
