After an exhaustive investigation, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton tweeted Friday his office learned 95,000 non-U.S. citizens are registered to vote in the Lone Star State – and 58,000 of them have voted in one or more elections between 1996 and 2018.

Voter fraud remains a top concern for state legislatures, who say today’s disclosure is but the latest reason why they passed a law requiring voters to show a photo ID before voting.
