Bernie ducked fast when reporters asked about the abuse allegations against his close political ally Keith Ellison.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Nope, nothing. You’ll excuse me, I’ve got to get going,” Sanders told The Washington Post on Thursday when asked if he has anything to say about the Ellison allegations.
Ellison won the party’s nomination for Minnesota attorney general Tuesday despite Monahan’s allegations, which he has repeatedly denied. Sanders campaigned for Ellison in Minnesota in July.
Ellison was a strong supporter of Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign and was the second congressman to endorse the socialist senator, who is technically an independent, but caucuses with Democrats in Congress.
The DNC said it’s “reviewing” the allegations against Ellison but has otherwise been hesitant to comment on the issue.
