The Republican-backed tax reform bill is the gift that keeps on giving.
Chrysler, one of the historic “Big 3” American automakers, is moving a factory back from Mexico to Michigan, and are citing tax reform as the reason why.
Sergio Marchionne, the CEO of Fiat Chrysler — the parent company of Chrysler — announced that the company would start producing heavy-duty trucks in Michigan, instead of Mexico.
Marchionne explained that the company was moving the manufacturing to reflect an “improvement in the U.S. business environment” — namely, the reduction in corporate taxes from 35% to 21% through the tax reform bill.
