Former Fox reporter Carl Cameron turned on conservatives during an apperance on MSNBC, claiming that he now believes that people should be put in jail for spreading ‘misinformation.’

As Real Clear Politics reports:

Former FOX News correspondent Carl Cameron to MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace on Tuesday: “It really is kind of horrible to think that journalists with national and international capacity are putting together this type of nonsense. I think the president did a great job. I wish he had done a lot of this a lot sooner, and we need a lot more from the left and the middle, and we got to watch out because the Republicans have become the purveyors of misinformation, and when our two-party system is broken like that, democracy is seriously in trouble. The president acknowledged that it’s time to actually start doing things and maybe taking some names and putting people in jail.”

Cameron’s remarks come in the wake of the Biden Administration’s decision to halt the operations of its long planned ‘disinformation oversight board.’

He seems to have swallowed the notion that journalists somehow are above all this constitutional nonsense and have no right to be wrong. Fact is, no mere journalist is above human error. It’s as certain as the sun. Even the best trained journalist occasionally errs and eating crow is part of the job.

This guy now is solidly implanted on the progressive side of the news and considered a worthy journalist. But he doesn’t accept that opposing opinions occur on every subject every day. And usually, a rational public has the job of determining for themselves right from wrong.

It’s foul and unprofessional to advocate punishment of a fellow journalist for publishing oppositional opinions. That activity is what eventually dredges up the truth and in today’s environment, the truth of important issues is determined by oppositional lawyers, evidence, witnesses and judges or juries.

In this nation, the bottom line is the 1st Amendment that allows the freedom to speak or write whatever is on one’s mind. Libel of course is a controlling device in the law and may be punished by a judge or jury, limited to money settlement. Of course, most here already know and understand it. Some don’t.
