Ex-Police Officer Attacked After Wearing Trump Hat

Former NYPD detective Daniel Sprague was enjoying what was supposed to be a joyous birthday celebration at a Nashville bar wearing a MAGA-style hat when a woman, seemingly triggered by his red baseball cap, reportedly cut his face to the bone.

The former NYPD officer, who has shared images of Trump-inspired memorabilia and posts appearing to be pro-Republican on social media, said that the ‘misguided soul’ yelled: ‘How dare you?’ as she launched the attack.The former detective said that he and the woman were led to the exit by security. He said the woman left the scene but that he filed a police report the following day and authorities were investigating.Sprague shared pictures on Facebook on Monday of the alleged attack showing his bloodied face, as well as images of the clothing he says his wife bought for him as a birthday gift.

Sprague hopes the incident will spark a dialogue about the divisions in our country.
