In a Hollywood minute, Amanda discusses Budweiser and their trans-positive decision. By now you no doubt have heard of the beer giant’s decision to partner with Transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. While the company claims the decision to partner with Mulvaney came from one person and wasn’t approved by anyone at the top, that can’t truly be the case. It’s impossible the top wasn’t aware and maybe that means we shouldn’t be supporting them. Along with many other businesses that have pushed this garbage out. We shouldn’t just take action when they come after our beer, instead, we should be acting before that. It’s great that Budweiser lost $6.6 billion and tons of customers in light of the whole situation but it says something that it took alcohol to ignite a fire in conservatives to fight back. The company sent out what some could assume is an apology but oddly enough Yuengling, sent out a tweet around the same time reminding Americans that they are the country’s oldest brewery. If you want to make the switch and send Budweiser an even stronger message maybe try Yuengling. Actively support businesses that align with your values folks.
