The tides are turning against WV’s Joe Manchin after his violent remark against his opponent, Attorney General Patrick Morrissey.
Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin earlier in the race held a double digit lead over Republican nominee and West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. But two new polls in the week before Election Day show Sen. Manchin’s lead narrowing to five percent in the final stretch.
“It took every bit of my discipline not to beat the living crap out of him,” said Sen. Manchin referencing Thursday night’s debate during a campaign event in Marmet on Saturday.
Morrisey responded to the comments at a rally with Donald Trump Jr. at Phillips Machinery in Beckley. “Senator Manchin said he had to hold off beating the crap out of his opponent. This is Mr. Civility. The issues weigh in our favor. People support the second amendment and coal.”
Monday’s rally brought more voltage than just candidates and the President’s son. Trump Jr.’s girlfriend and former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle also arrived with fighting words.
