Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren urged President Trump to stand strong on his demand for funding for border security and his long-promised wall.
Trump last week said he is willing to let the government shut down if Congress doesn’t include $5 billion in funding for border security — including his long-promised border wall — in a year-end spending bill.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, however, seemed to back off that position Tuesday, telling Fox News that the White House could support a compromise short-term spending bill to avoid a shutdown, while looking at “other ways” of getting $5 billion for border security.
“We need to be funding this wall. It’s the best $5 billion this government has ever spent. And I’m urging Donald Trump to hold firm on his promise,” Tomi said on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday.
With a partial government shutdown looming, President Trump will have to play hardball with Democrats if he wants to secure the funding before a new Congress is sworn in.
Ann Coulter has already declared that if Trump cannot fulfill his promise, she will no longer support him – and many conservatives would also lose hope for true change in Washington.
