Demi Lovato, the pop singer who “came out” as nonbinary in 2021, openly shared feeling “completely drained” while using they/them pronouns during an interview with GQ Hype Spain, leading her to retire the usage of those pronouns. Lovato previously announced in 2021 her adoption of they/them pronouns and chose to consider herself “nonbinary.” Lovato has previously discussed her pronoun preferences, expressing that she is accepting of both she/her and they/them pronouns in the past, which lead many to believe that the ongoing discussion regarding pronouns is becoming nothing more than ridiculous.
