The earlier report of a suspicious package sent to the White House were false, per the Secret Service:

The Secret Service intercepted a suspicious package addressed to the White House earlier today.
Neither the White House or Secret Service has responded yet to requests for comment.
At the same time, authorities responded to another potential explosive device mailed to CNN’s New York headquarters, initiating a complete evacuation of the Time Warner Center as first responders poured in.
The network pulled anchors Jim Sciutto and Poppy Harlow off the air as alarms bells rang out.
