Progressive activists are sending uncompromising messages to outgoing DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in an attempt to keep her unemployable in the private sector.
The coordinated campaigns are in response to Nielsen’s participation in the so-called “child separation” policy experienced by illegal immigrants in ICE detention centers.
Since the leftist campaign to make Nielsen a pariah began, several movers and shakers have added their voices to the movement. (Red State)
Most notably: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14). In response to a tweet from liberal Rolling Stone senior writer Jamil Smith calling for Nielsen to be branded a “pariah for life”, AOC tweeted the following message on Tuesday:
In stealing 1000s of children, deporting their parents,& refusing to provide info for reunification, Sec. Nielsen oversaw one of the largest-scale human rights violations in recent history.
Awarding her a lucrative deal or prestigious post is to legitimize+celebrate that abuse. https://t.co/f2cgDXI48B

Unfortunately, she’s not the only one. The mainstream media are helpfully amplifying this disturbing campaign by publishing similar propaganda in the form of opinion pieces, like liberal Michelle Goldberg’s at the New York Times and Tufts University Professor Dan Drezner’s at the Washington Post.
As Vox reports, the list of regressive fascists people who share the opinions of AOC, Goldberg, Drezner and others is growing:
A handful of scholars and media figures have signed a petition, written on Monday by George Washington University political scientist Henry Farrell, vowing not to “associate myself in any way” with any think tank or university department that employs the homeland security secretary, who resigned on Sunday.
If you think this McCarthyite campaign only applies to Nielsen, think again. One signatory to the petition wrote, “Like everyone who’s agreed to work for Trump, Nielsen should be permanently shunned from public life.”
